Here are some pictures of our new home. For some weird reason I forgot to get a picture of the living room. It has a big window and gas fire place. Ahhhh. Anyways, we love it! We will get the keys this coming week to finish off the playroom we are doing and then we move the weekend of the 28th!!!

After many years Noel and I have finally bought a house!!!

We moving in a few short weeks and can't wait!!!

Halloween is such a fun and exciting time for the kidlets. However, I have learned over the last couple of years, it can be pretty anti-climatic. My kids were SO very excited about trick or treating that by the time it came to trick or treat, they were super grumpy and full of complaints! From what I hear.... mine aren't the only ones!
So we headed out, loaded them with sugar as we went... and it turned out to be a really good time!
This year Noel had to work.... so I went with my girlfriend Catrina and her son Hudson.

The kids both had parties at their schools as well. Makenna's was Wednesday due to a teacher going on holidays(Lucky bum) and Logan's parade was Friday!

I am a good updater, aren't I? LOL
Life is busy with 2 monkeys, a hard working husband, 2 dogs and other animals (including the newest Hamster). And now with me working a little...... phew. Not much time for blogging.
But I am determined to get back to this, mainly to keep family members far away updated on our happenings and pics of the munchkins!

Logan is loving grade 2. He has the same teacher as last year which he is thrilled about it! And he is doing so well! The tutoring we had done this summer has really given him the confidence he needed with his reading! So far all spelling tests have come home with a big 10/10 and his reading has progressed 5 levels! WOO HOO! Way to go Logan!! Soccer is going really well this year too! He has some great friends on his team and loves to play!

Makenna is doing really well with her second year of preschool! She sure loves the teachers.... and they love her! She has made some new little friends this year, sadly she will not go to school with any of them next year as the preschool is on the other side of town! But thats okay... she has a tonne of friends through Logan's friends and such. So kindergarten should be an easy transition for us. Makenna has also started soccer this year.... not quite as keen as her brother, but she is getting there.

Noel and I are well! Our trip to Vegas was a much needed rest from our regular daily activities and some time to just concentrate on us. What a great time we had with our good friends Lorne and Catrina. We can't wait to do it again!
Work is going good... you can tell winter is coming and with the market the way it is... things have slowed a tad. But I am sure it will pick up in no time. I have taken on some part time work doing some merchandising for some major companies such as Loreal, Johnson and Johnson, Hallmark etc. I love it! Its during hours that Noel is home to watch Makenna and its contract work... so they just call when they need me. Works great!

Makenna and I attended the Princess Faire this one afternoon. Cinderella told a story and then Aurora, Cinderella and Snow White put on a special show! It was SO sweet seeing all these little girls dressed up! Makenna was in her glory!!

We had a blast on our spring trip to Disneyland! What a wonderful way to spend a week!
Makenna was terrified of the characters... but loved the princesses! Logan rode every ride there! He wasn't scared of any of them! Noel and I had both been to Disneyland as kids... but nothing beats seeing it through your kids eyes. Next is going to be a whole pile of pictures for your enjoyment!

Life has been super busy with 2 busy kids! The last few weeks of school are coming up fast.... and we are thankful to have a break over the summer!

To the Island we go...

Over Spring Break we took a much overdue trip to Victoria to visit Noel's sister Sara and brother in law Tom and our nephew and Niece, Naythan and Katya. What a great time we had!

We headed to the Ferry Thursday morning, we had reserved a spot for 11 am. Sadly, we missed it. How like us, ALWAYS late. So we were able to catch the 12 pm and were happy and on our way!
Here is Makenna on the ferry deck... mad as can be that they just blew the warning whistle. Poor kid just about peed her pants... and wanted off right then and there!!!

Once we got to Victoria we headed straight to Sara and Tom's for some lunch and a play at the park! We had a really nice dinner downtown at 5th Avenue Restaurant, excellent food and company!
Friday was a nice weather day and we got out to Thetis Lake and did a really nice walk around the whole lake! The kids did amazing!
Logan and his cousin Naythan are only 6 days apart and are a lot alike!

Noel's sister Sara and our sweet Niece Katya. She is the quietest little thing! Her and Makenna had a wonderful time playing and coloring!

Saturday before we left for home, we decided to go and watch Naythan play football! It was his first league game! Before the game started we had a play at the park where I took LOTS of pictures..... I will share a few.

Makenna had her friend birthday party on March 8th this year! Earlier than most years, but because Spring Break was so early... we figured we'd better be safe and do it early! She choose to do gymnastics! They had a wonderful time! 17 kids in all. Poor Logan started with a high fever the morning of the party so didn't participate much and left early with Gram and Papa.
Makenna wanted a Diego birthday theme.. much to the surprise of me!

March 4th/2008,

Tooth number 2 wiggled its way out with the help of a daddy and some play fighting!
The space is SO small considering two teeth are missing.... I see a future of orthodontics. Lucky us!

February 26, 2008 is the day my baby boy lost his first tooth!!!

I had gone up to the school early to do some photocopying... and happened to be deliver the sheets to Logan's class. Usually he pretends he doesn't see me (Way too cool for mommy LOL), but this day he came running to the door with flushed cheeks and said......
"Mommy, my tooth fell out!!". He looked as though he might cry, and I sure wanted to! But I gave him a big hug said YAY and sent him on his way to show his teacher and friends! Of course everyone made a big deal about it! We headed off to the office to get his special tooth box for save keeping!
Of course the tooth fairy came that night and left Logan $5 for his first tooth! He had also written a note asking to keep the tooth! So cute.

So my boy is officially a big kid.

Saturday was Logan's big 7th Birthday party!
We headed out to 8 Rinks in Burnaby to celebrate on the indoor soccer field!
What a blast he had! Him and 18 of his friends all playing soccer!!

My Logey Bear is riding a 2 wheeler!!!
We live on a very busy street, so Logan never really showed any interest in riding a bike right up until he was 4.
Sunday I decided enough was enough, I was taking the training wheels off, and he was not allowed to ride his new scooter until he could ride his bike!(Mean I know)
We took him to a soft playing field close to our house. Stuck him on the bike, held the back and gave a push. And that was it. He was gone, stopping, starting turning and ... laughing!!!

We are SO proud of you Logan!! Way to go!!!

We had a wonderful weekend!
Saturday we took the kids downtown to Science World! They had a blast! There is so much to do there!
Saturday night my friend Catrina and I headed out on the town... well to the Casino anyways!
We had a few drinks played some slots! It was great to get out on my own! Its been awhile!!

Sunday we spent most of the say outside!! Finally a day with out rain! How lovely!!

I made it back!!

Its the start of 2008, where has the time gone?
The tail end of 2007 seemed to sail by.

Things here at the Gilbert household are wonderful. We have settled in to our new routine being parents and business owners. Noel's weird shifts have become almost normal. We look forward to him being home in the day and that will be even better in the summertime when Logan is out of school!
Logan is doing wonderfully in grade 1. I had some concerns as he was put in to a split class, but he thrives with the older children, always has actually. Perhaps from being around so many adults!!
In 2 short weeks he will be 7. He has 2 loose teeth and has said his first swear word. Where has my baby gone? Shall I even mention that he is already talking about girls and has found the one he swears he will marry? What happened to wanting to marry me?????

Makenna is loving her preschool. Her teachers say she is SO loving! And hangs with all the different little groups, a real social butterfly. She is trying out her attitude in lots of ways lately, I know teenage years with her may be HORRID. But she is such a sweet little thing, always so loving and concerned for others. Soon she will be 4, and that is sad. My babies are growing.

Is 2008 the year for another? One of my closest friends is pregnant with her 4th, she makes me want a 3rd. It is something we toy with every day. Time will tell I suppose!

I hope to update this at least once a week with the events of our days! And of course lots of pictures (once I figure out how to get them off my new camera!!!)

Hard to believe that Logan is already finished kindergarten. It seems like only yesterday he was a tiny baby! And now he is off to grade one. Sad but exciting!

Today Logan and Makenna gave rollerblading a try!
Logan did awesome! I think that as long as you can skate, blading isn't too hard! Makenna enjoyed pushing her buggy around skating! She did take a good tumble, but got back up and tried again!

After blading we met the Carr family for some lunch! It was really nice to see them and to let the kids play!
Friday night was the start to the weekend long lacrosse tournament! Logan was chosen as the shooter for his team in the shoot out contest! He did so well, got 2 in and missed the 3rd! We were so proud of him! His team went on to do very well in the tournament! He scored numerous goals and had a great time!!Thats Logan (17) taking his shot! YAY Logan!!

Today we headed up to a local lake that has lots of hiking trails.

Its been awhile since I updated, it was nice of Carol to remind me!

Noel and I went away for the weekend just after my birthday! We had a wonderful time. We stayed at the most beautiful bed and breakfast just outside of Harrison. We plan to head back there in October.
We spent the first afternoon just lazing around and then headed to town to the pub for dinner.
The next morning we hung out in the room, had a wonderful breakfast and then did some shopping before heading back to get the kids. It was out first time away from them overnight, we really needed it and had a great time.

30 has come.
Finally.
And now I feel okay about it. Not that it was really bugging me, but it was a little.

I had a really wonderful weekend. Friday night was my cousin's grad (YAY Jordan!), which was really nice. We are so proud of him.
Saturday my aunt and uncle very sweetly put on a lunch for me and my cousin! It was really nice to spend time with family. We don't do it often enough.
I received so many nice gifts! And some beautiful flowers! It was truly a wonderful day!
Sunday we finished putting together the new patio set and the trampoline. Then we had some family over for dinner. It was a busy but great weekend!
Now next weekend Noel and I are headed out to Harrison for one night at a B & B! We can't wait!!

The weather has been so nice that my mom and I decided to take the kids to a local beach to have a picnic and some fun in the sand! The water was pretty darn cold!! But we did have fun digging and meeting some new geese friends!!

It was one of my oldest and dearest friends wedding shower on the 27th of May.
She was glowing. I sure can't wait to share her day July 7, 2007, which is also Noel and I's 6th wedding anniversary. We couldn't be happier to share our day with Amanda and Chris!

May 21st- Castle Fun Park!

Time has sure gotten away from me!
As someone nicely reminded me its time for an update! So here are a few!!

The long weekend in May was mostly a write-off. It was great having Noel home, but sadly I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia on the Friday so I slept most of the weekend away. It was nice however, for Noel and the kids to spend sometime on their own. On the Monday we took a trip out to Abbotsford to Castle Fun Park! The kids had a blast!

Logan loved the mini golf! And even won a free game at the end! Makenna was happy to ride the little horses, although she did play golf this time! We won over 300 tickets and spent quite a bit of time picking out their prizes! It was a really nice day!
We look forward to returning there sometime in the fall to use Logan's free game!!

Time is just flying by lately!We spent last weekend at Logan's lacrosse tournament and had a blast! Logan scored a few really nice goals over the course of 3 games, saw a parade, went on rides and came home tired and dirty!!

Well they started fixing our roof a few weeks ago from the damage done in the 2 windstorms.
Those trees sure did a number on the house!
Yesterday they started the work inside and took out Logan's roof above his bed. You can see right outside!!
They should be done in 2 weeks, then I can get my yard and house back in order.

Plus on top of that, the city has ripped up the green space behind us to put in an alley. So the diggers have been hard at work! The kids are so excited about having an alley to play in! And so are we! And then we are having a wood fence put up down one side and across the back!
YAY!!!
Needless to say, its been a noisy and dusty couple days here!

Today was the first weekend Noel had been home for 2 weeks!
It was the start of the May Day festivities here in Port Coquitlam, so despite the rain, we headed over to the fire hall for their Emergency Preparedness day! It was lots of fun! They lit a car on fire, had a magician, they did a police dog demonstration and free hot dogs and timbits for all!
This was the 4th year we have attended and really had a good time!
After we headed over to the local pet store to see the puppies (one of Makenna's favorite past times). Then off to dinner at White Spot!

Phew!
What a week!! Noel worked all last weekend, so I feel as though my week had turned into 2!

Its been a good and busy week though. Logan had a few friends over, we had 3 days of lacrosse, today some friends came out for lunch and a play! It was really nice.

I finally got the call today to say that there was a spot open for preschool for Makenna in September! I am SO excited! I think she is really going to like this place! They even have an indoor playground for rainy days! YAY!

Well, now that my kids are tucked into bed nice and early, I should go and catch up on paper work!
I am going to find a few pictures to post though!

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Today has been pretty good. Logan has been so very sick. Today I finally relented and took him in to the doctors. They hooked him up to the nebulizer for about 1/2 hour to see if it would help clear his lungs. The poor kid has coughed 24 hours straight for the past 6 days. Thankfully, the treatment seemed to work. He has been functioning much better this afternoon!

Noel was home from work today until 4, so after the doctors we went for lunch, then came home to play outside in the yard! It was nice to have him home. This is his weekend to work, so it makes for a long 2 weeks.

The Canucks play tonight! YAY! Game 3 of series 2, the kids are excited to watch!

After a few requests from family and friends to hear and see more from us, I thought I should join the rest of cyber world and start a blog!

Things here are moving along just fine.
We are entering our last 2 months of Logan's first year in school! Kindergarten sure has been a good experience for the most part. I have really learned even more about my son and the boy he has become. We couldn't be prouder of all that he has accomplished over the last 8 months.
Soccer just wound up and what a season it was! A great bunch of kids and wonderful coaches, what more could we have asked for?! Lacrosse is now in full swing. Logan has the same coach as last year which we are thrilled about. It was such a great experience for him, we are looking forward to this season!

Makenna is growing in leaps and bounds. She has developed quite the personality (or shall I say attitude?). It really is amazing to think that our baby is already 3! She will enter preschool in the fall and she is SO ready. Makenna is such a social child we know she will do well. She has just started in gymnastics and is already loving it. Her instructor says she is a natural!

Noel and I are doing well. The company is off in full swing. Noel has been working some really long hours, but it seems to be settling down now. Just having some money in the bank for once has sure helped to ease our worries!

So thats about it for now. I will try and post about our daily excursions at least weekly. Hopefully more. And yes, lots of pictures too! Just let me figure this thing out first!!!
